About

My name is Vanessa, or Mme. Drew to my students.  I have been teaching Core French at an independent school in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada for 18 years. Along with having French and English as my teachable subjects at the high school level, I completed an M.Ed. in French through the University of British Columbia in 2022. I am also an ACC credentialed coach with the International Coaching Federation, and I am an instructional coach at school I teach.

My passions concerning teaching French include integrating culture into the language classroom through a variety of methods: CALL (computer assisted language learning), CBI (content-based instruction), Communicative Approach, to name a few. I am part of a local Francophile and Francophone association working on building the Francophone community where I live, while practicing my French skills, and learning more about Francophone cultures.

I have a number of initiatives to encourage and support other French teachers and I am always interested in connecting with teachers one on one.
